The Western Corridor Alliance for the War of 1812 Bicentennial is the provincial region coordinating commemoration events from Burlington to Middlesex, including the City of Brantford, the County of Brant and Six Nations. The website showcases events and sites of interest throughout our region and is an excellent resource for discovering more about 1812 activities in nearby regions!
Educational Resources
www.1812history.com is dedicated to making the surviving records and artifacts from the War of 1812 time period available to everyone. The website is the product of a partnership between several museums and educational institutions in the Niagara Region, made possible with the support of the Department of Canadian Heritage.
Real People's History, www.realpeopleshistory.com, includes a separate War of 1812 page with resources that highlight the Six Nations involvement in the War, as well as purchasing information for ‘War of 1812 - Western Hooves of Thunder’ by Zig Misiak.

County of Brant Public Library Digital Collections
This is a new project with the goal of preserving the history of the County of Brant and making it available around the world. It presents digitized original historical documents, photographs, complete history books and other materials and is an ongoing project with the aim of expanding to document every community in the County of Brant. These records extend to county military history including archival and photo military history records from the War of 1812. The Brant County branch of the Ontario Genealogical Society is dedicated to supporting genealogical research in Brant County and Brantford by developing resources and building a community of members. The War of 1812 Heritage Trail, www.1812heritagetrail.org, tells the story of the war in the Western Theatre, including sites in Michigan, Ohio and Ontario. Organized by the Western Theatre Legacy Council consortium, the trails links historical sites and partners geographically and historically, to better promote the region's 1812 heritage.
Amherstburg (then known as Fort Amherstburg) is an Southwestern Ontario community with strong ties to the War of 1812 in the Western Theatre. Visit their Bicentennial website for comprehensive information about historical and commemorative events in Amhertsburg and area.

Westfield Heritage Village (Flamborough) is a stunning collection of over 30 historical buildings which has made Westfield one of the most interesting historical destinations in Ontario. Carefully restored and staffed with costumed interpreters, the buildings capture the true charm and spirit of early Canadian culture.
