Grand River Watershed 15th Annual Heritage Day Workshop & Celebration, Bicentennial Theme: "Crossroads of Conflict, Pathways to Peace: Divided Loyalties".  Hosted by the City of Brantford, County of Brant and the Heritage Working Group of the Grand Strategy.  Taking place at the South Dumfries Community Hall, St. George, Ontario.

February 22 & 23, 2012
Celebrate Heritage Week at the main branch of the Brantford Public Library! On Wednesday, Feb. 22 at 2:00pm author Zig Misiak will read from his book "Western Hooves of Thunder".  On Thursday, Feb. 23 the library will screen the recently released PBS documentary, "The War of 1812" from 1:00-3:00pm.

Pathways to Peace: Touring Exhibition of Prints, Art Studies of Upper Canada During the War of 1812.  The inaugural showing of the 'Pathways to Peace Touring Exhibition of Prints' is currently on display at the Woodland Cultural Centre, 184 Mohawk Street in Brantford.  Presented in partnership with the Western Corridor Alliace Bicentennial Region 7 and the Hamilton Halton Brant Regional Tourism Organization.  For more information contact the Woodland Cultural Centre at 519-759-2650.

Local Brantford/Brant War of 1812 Bicentennial Map Launch at Mohawk Chapel, 301 Mohawk Street, Brantford.  Join us for refreshments and entertainment as we celebrate the launch of the first edition of our local map, showing local events and sites related to the War of 1812.  Takes place from 5:00-7:00pm, with greetings and presentations at 5:30pm.  Admission is free, but please RSVP to 519-751-9900 ext. 219.

August 5 & 6 and August 12 & 13, 2011 (Rain Date: August 19)
The 63rd Annual Six Nations Native Pageant presents "Tecumseh".  Written by George Beaver and Directed by Yvonne Beaver, the pageant tells the story of Tecumseh, a freedom fighter and warrior who wanted to make peace in his time and who succumbed to death on the battlefield during the War of 1812.  Located at 843 Seneca Road, at the corner of Soursprings Road.  Gates open at 5:00pm.  Tickets: $7 adults, $4 children.
