Adelaide Hunter Hoodless Homestead National Historic Site
Visit the birthplace and childhood home of Adelaide Hunter Hoodless. Restored and furnished to reflect her era, 1857-1910, it portrays rural life in the 19th century. Adelaide was instrumental in the establishment of the YWCA, VON, National Council of Women, the Women’s Institute and domestic science in public schools. Guided tours, Victorian gardens, picnic shelter, and washrooms; please call ahead to book your group. Summer hours: (June - August) Tuesday - Friday, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. Fall/Winter hours: (Sept. - May) Tuesday 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.; other times for special events and pre-booked tours.
