Adelaide Hunter Hoodless Homestead National Historic Site

Visit the birthplace and childhood home of Adelaide Hunter Hoodless. Restored and furnished to reflect her era, 1857-1910, it portrays rural life in the 19th century. Adelaide was instrumental in the establishment of the YWCA, VON, National Council of Women, the Women’s Institute and domestic science in public schools. Guided tours, Victorian gardens, picnic shelter, and washrooms; please call ahead to book your group. Summer hours: (June - August) Tuesday - Friday, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. Fall/Winter hours: (Sept. - May) Tuesday 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.; other times for special events and pre-booked tours. Brantford International Villages Festival

Bell Homestead National Historic Site

From 1870 to 1881, this was the Bell family’s first Canadian residence and the place where Alexander Graham Bell discovered the fundamental concept of the telephone in 1874. Spend an hour or stay for three and enjoy lunch in our beautiful café. We offer educational student tours and are part of many other group tours. Group rates available; must book ahead. Holstein Canada

Over 125 years ago, the first black and white dairy cow was imported from Holland. These fine-tuned milking machines now represent 93 per cent of Canada’s dairy herd, producing large quantities of quality milk for butter, cheese, yogurt and ice cream for our nutritious enjoyment. Holstein Canada invites you to be udderly captivated by the life-sized bronze cow and calf sculpture by world-renowned artist Joe Fafard, historical displays and agricultural art collection. Mohawk Chapel

Bring your groups to Her Majesty’s Royal Chapel of the Mohawks. Built in 1785, the Chapel is the oldest Protestant Church in Ontario and the first Royal Chapel in the world belonging to native people. 2010 marks the 225th Anniversary of the Chapel. Widely known for its eight stained glass windows depicting the colourful history of the Six Nations people, Mohawk Chapel is also the final resting place of Captain Joseph Brant. Woodland Cultural Centre
